Blood on Filter: Also known as Whatman, Matrix, or Parchment; less than 60 days old. Air-dry and mail in a paper envelope.
Semen: Frozen vial (Sperm bank) or fresh swab; semen on fabric. Mail in a paper envelope.
Bloodstain on Fabric: Includes bandages, gauze, and facial tissues (Kleenex) or napkins. Air-dry and mail in a paper envelope.
Fingernail/Nail Clippings: 5-10 clippings required. Mail in a paper envelope.
Tissue (Muscles, Organs); Non-Embalmed: Depends on age and storage conditions; CHAIN ONLY. Request consultation.
Ear Swab: Mail in a paper envelope.
Umbilical Cord (Dried): Requires reference sample from the mother. Mail in a paper envelope or preserved.
Semen Stain on Fabric: Mark the area on the fabric; includes bandages, gauze, tissues, or napkins. Air-dry and mail in a paper envelope.
Hair with Roots: Ensure roots are present (7-10 hairs); shed or cut hair will not work. Mail in a paper envelope.
Razor (Electric, Disposable): Submit an entire blade or disposable razor; debris can be mailed in a paper envelope.
Cigarette Butts: Depending on type/brand. Mail in a paper envelope.
Chewing Gum: Sugarless preferred. Mail in a plastic Zip-Lock bag.
Mucus: From facial tissues (Kleenex), napkins, or paper towels. Mail in a paper envelope.
Condom: Depending on storage conditions/swab of the inside of the condom. Mail in a paper envelope.
Toothbrush: Air-dry and mail in a paper envelope.
Soda Can / Drinking Glass / Plastic Container: Swab with a cotton swab or send the item with the area marked. Air-dry and mail in a paper envelope.
Tampon/Feminine Pad: Air-dry and mail in a paper envelope.
Drinking Straw: Air-dry and mail in a paper envelope.
Envelope Flaps: Depends on age and seal. Request consultation before submitting.
Bones from Exhumed Body: For forensic cases only. Request consultation.
Tooth: Molar, premolar, or canine preferred. Mail in a paper envelope.
Bone: Femur or humerus bone, 3-4 inches in length using a clean blade. Request consultation.
